Classic Collection

The Tengdahl Classic collection is comprised of the fundamental designs Julie always has hanging in her own wardrobe. The designs have been refined and evolved over the past 20 years to form the foundation of the Tengdahl label.

These designs transcend trends, anchor the wardrobe and underpin all successful styling combinations.

Using Tengdahl's signature design elements - such as French lace, chiffon and silk, the collection covers the full spectrum of a client's styling needs - from corporate and eveningwear through to leisure and sleepwear. A highlight of the collection is the Classic Smoking Suit, Julie's tribute to the iconic Yves Saint Laurent. 

 The collection is available year round, in the label's foundation colours of black, white, latte and navy - as well as seasonal fabrics and shades.

Autumn Winter 08

The rise of Hollywood defined the style of Tengdahl’s autumn/winter collection; bold, elegant and sophisticated. Julie's seasonal visit to Italy and France enabled her to revisit the versatile design elements of the late 1940’s and early 50's fashion. The result is a divine combination of whimsical georgette blouses, textured fabrics and structured, yet feminine, silhouettes that have been adapted to suit the Australian climate using cashmere, light wool, Irish linen, duchess silk, tulle and chiffon.

For this, Julie delved into her treasure box of sequined georgette, jewelled detailing and metallic lace. An injection of bold colour through fiery citrus, Tengdahl's signature rouge and ultra-feminine fuchsia modernise the collection and ensure its versatility from chic work wear through to comfortable leisure pieces and strikingly glamorous eveningwear. Slouchy 'theatre' necklines add a dramatic touch to cropped jackets - while silk, lace and vintage jewelled buttons hint at the collection's finely detailed focus and sense of theatrical drama.

The collection also sees the release of Tengdahl’s ‘Classic’ range, with a refined series of wearable, elegant basics that underpin all successful styling combinations.

Spring Summer 07

The Tengdahl spring/summer07 collection embodies the casual elegance of the season. Youthful, individual – and most importantly, wearable – the collection balances creativity with comfort.

Tengdahl’s couture belts form a signature element of the collection; created by merging Julie’s precious keepsakes, such as the vintage flower motifs and French laces she collected as a child – with softened leather, glass and crystal beading from Italy and France.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 07

Muted metallics whet the palate in delicious shades of oyster, truffle, ink, lilac and crisp whites. Sheer jewel-encrusted georgette and metallic silk embroidery on linen merge modern simplicity with feminine detailing. Brussels lace is juxtaposed with a hint of oriental prints, sequins and a splash of Tengdahl’s signature red.

Tengdahl’s couture belts also make an appearance, cinching in light-as-a-feather smocks and seductively simple dresses. Tengdahl’s most refined collection to date, and an exciting symbol of the decade ahead.
